Antique silver-plated sugar scuttle or sugar bucket dating from the late Victorian to Edwardian period, circa 1880–1910.
This attractive table piece features a traditional scuttle form with engraved decoration, pedestal foot and ornate scroll handle. Originally intended for serving sugar lumps at the dining table, it also makes an elegant decorative piece and could be used for wrapped chocolates, sweets, potpourri or similar display purposes.
Included is a silver-plated serving spoon by Thomas Wilkinson & Co of Birmingham. The spoon is not believed to be original to the scuttle but complements the piece well.
