Beautifully Framed Print of "The Waiting Woman" by Victor Noble Rainbird - the frame is wood painted gold in a distressed effect

40cm x 45cm frame size) / 21cm x 30cm (print size)

Rainbird probably painted the original "Waiting Woman" whilst a student at the Royal Academy of Arts where he was admitted on 21 March 1911.  Rainbird was born on 12 December 1888 at 49 Sidney Street, North Shields.  He was badly affected by his  experiences during the war and was certainly a troubled soul after he returned home.  He moved to Sunderland to live with friends in Otto Street around 1934/35 and died there on 8 March 1936 aged 47 following a brief illness.

He came home to North Shields for the last time in March 1936 and was laid to rest in a Paupers grave in Preston Cemetery.
