James Tyler USA Studio Elite HD "Alien Guano" Faux Machinghead #23215 [3.37kg]
We have received a James Tyler USA Studio Elite HD "Alien Guano" Faux Machinghead.
Alongside Tom Anderson and Suhr Guitars, James Tyler reigns supreme as one of the top US high-end brands.
Its history dates back to the 1980s, when the Studio Elite, a flagship model, was developed through feedback from L.A. studio musicians of the time.
As popular music reached its peak, the demand for guitars capable of playing multiple genres such as rock, jazz, and pop arose, leading to the establishment of James Tyler's unique sound, which continues to this day.
Having thus built a solid reputation as a high-end guitar brand, James Tyler has become a brand appreciated not only by studio musicians but also by many other players.
The model we have received is the "Studio Elite HD," a modern model featuring a master volume, master tone, and a traditional mid-booster.
The wood materials include a classic alder body, quarter-sawn maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard.
Among J. Tyler's unique color schemes, the "Alien Guano" finish stands out, with its purple and green gradients possessing a truly alien, almost venomous appearance.
While this color scheme is rare in Japan and might seem a bit unusual, the black pearl pickguard and black hardware give it a chic and sophisticated look.
In terms of playability, it features a satin-finish, side-scalloped neck, jumbo frets, a contoured neck heel, a compound radius fingerboard, and the Extra-Thin '59 shape, the thinnest James Tyler shape, incorporating technically oriented specifications for discerning players.
The pickups are James Tyler's original JTS5500 (center/front) and SUPER (rear), mounted slant.
Made in the USA and standard on most guitars, this pickup delivers a remarkably cohesive sound, typical of high-end pickups, effortlessly handling everything from clean to high-gain tones.
It works well with various drive effects, and when distorted, the sound tightens and thickens, possessing an inexplicable clarity of tone unlike any other brand.
The single-coil JTS5500 typically produces a delicate and sparkling clear tone, but when the mid-boost is fully engaged, it delivers a sound pressure reminiscent of a humbucker.
It's renowned for its tight lows and clear high-mids in every position, and can be confidently said to have an ideal frequency range for handling a wide variety of genres.
It also pairs well with spatial effects and modulation, and its deep reverb and chorus ambient sounds are recognized as one of James Tyler's signature sounds.
The James Tyler sound, crafted through feedback from top musicians and years of scientific trial and error, is so refined that it's often referred to as "Tyler Magic."
The body shape and neck specifications are meticulously designed with playability in mind, and the instrument's appearance possesses the individuality and elegance befitting a high-end brand.
Experience the world's finest sound that will truly "enchant" any player who picks it up.
