MEDIEVAL BELLARMINE JUG IN RAEREN STONEWARE
Stoneware jug with speckled salt glaze dating from the Renaissance period, comprising at the base of its neck a bearded man's head in relief. 
It is decorated in the center with a medallion on the body with a coat of arms. 
These jugs, known as “Bartmann krug” were made between 1580 and 1650 mainly in the towns of Frechen and Raeren. 
Height: 20.3 cm – diameter 13.7 cm 
dating: End of the 16th century / First half of the 17th century. 
Very good state of conservation, nice surface condition with a brown glaze, small original deformations during cooking which give it additional charm. 
Perfect state of conservation, one notch original  at the shoulder.

BELLARMINE RAEREN STONEWARE JUG DATING FROM RENAISSANCE PERIOD.
