This is an unboxed Wrenn 4652 BR Bauxite Brown Unloaded Lowmac Machine wagon.
It was made by G&R Wrenn Ltd at their factory in Basildon Essex, from the late 1960s into the early 1990s.
The model used to ex Hornby Dublo Super Detail mould and was sometimes sold with loads such as Minix vehicles, a Presflo Body and finally replicas of Wrenn Formula 152 racing cars. This one is unboxed and has no load.
A load of your choose may be added and tied down thorough the four anchoring holes at either end of the flat portion. Green Meccano String is the material of choice but any string of a suitable size can be used.
Although the underbody weight on the original Hornby Dublo version was well secured, it seems that Wrenn just glued their ballast weights on. This one appears to have lost the ballast weight at some stage and a piece of sheet lead has been cut to fit and give the desired 45g all up weight that the model had when new.
I have not glued this on and it will be supplied lose for the buyer to fit - if they want to. A strong flexible glue like UHU or Bostick is reccomended.
The model is cosmetically very good. There are no breaks or obvious marks or scratches.
The model is equipped with a pair or screw on Triang Mk3 type tension lock couplings. These are slightly rusted but fully functional. If they are removed the Ex Hornby Dublo PECO designed Simplex couplings can be fitted. Wrenn sold packs with couplings, screws and bushes for this very purpose. These are not included.
