Rare early Coca-Cola Brown Mfg. Co. cast iron corkscrew / bottle opener / razor strop hook combination piece.
This appears to be an early pre-STARR version of the Brown Mfg. Co. Coca-Cola opener, before later versions added STARR branding. This is also the earlier cast iron version, before later examples moved to brass construction. Another early design detail is the raised nub/rest used to hold up the corkscrew worm, rather than the slotted holder seen on later versions.
Features raised Coca-Cola advertising on the handle, a corkscrew, bottle opener, and lower razor strop hook. Marked Brown Mfg. Co., Newport News, Va., with patent markings.
Coca-Cola was introduced in 1886 and became one of the most recognizable American soda brands. This piece is a hard-to-find early Coca-Cola advertising item with crossover appeal for Coke, soda advertising, bottle opener, corkscrew, barber/razor strop, STARR and Brown Mfg. Co. collectors.
Condition is rough antique/vintage survivor condition with heavy age-related wear, dark patina, oxidation, finish/plating loss, surface marks, pitting, discoloration, and signs of prior use/storage as shown. The corkscrew and lower razor strop hook are present/intact. Coca-Cola lettering and Brown Mfg. Co. markings remain visible, though worn. This is not a mint example, but it is a scarce and displayable early survivor.
No original box, mounting screws, or accessories included unless shown in photos.
