THE CAR THAT SAVED BENTLEY:
Affectionally dubbed the "Crewe's Missile" by the factory team producing it due to its beastly performance in an elegant package.
The Turbo R is credited with saving Bentley by reviving its reputation for producing high-performance "Blower" Bentleys, moving away form being seen merely as a badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
Here we have an HR OWEN 1990 Bentley Turbo R long wheelbase special.
Commissioned and sold in Berkeley Square on the year of its production and specified with Mulliner Park Ward from the showroom; this car was the flagship of Bentley from 1985-1997!
This one in particular being a long wheelbase special fitted with multiple special extras, making it very similar to the two long wheelbase specials ordered by HRH the then Prince of Wales in 1988 and 1996.
Its special fittings include but are not limited to:
- Ladies illuminated vanity mirrors in the rear
- Full picnic tables
- additional foot room
- a full Motorola Comms pack with a corded telephone in the front cockpit and a Motorola mobile bullock telephone that can be lifted out of there boot.
- it is also fitted with an Aspinals whiskey flask decanter with a matched set of Stuart crystal glasses.
Fresh MOT , service history, two sets of keys and is fully drivable so the purchaser can drive it straight away,
It has a brand new set of Avon Turbos Tires on (very expensive and rare).
The interior is immaculate, a full service a year ago and drives beautifully!
The only poor points are bodywork related with the wheel arches starting to need attention and the painters looking less smooth than new.
The car is sold as seen with no guarantees or warranty, further videos or photos on request.
