Spoon measures 10 inches long. This piece is a replica of the famous Anointing Spoon, which is part of the British Crown Jewels kept in the Tower of London. The original 12th-century spoon is used during the most sacred part of the coronation ceremony. It was made to celebrate the coronation of King George VI (the father of Queen Elizabeth II) and Queen Elizabeth (later known as the Queen Mother) on May 12, 1937. The interior satin lid shows the stamp for the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd., located at 112 Regent Street, London. They held a Royal Warrant to produce high-end official souvenirs for the event.
