Tom Anderson Angel Quilt Maple Top Abalone to Deep Ocean Blue Burst with Binding SN. 04-28-26N

A special guitar featuring a quilted maple top selected by Ikebe staff at Tom Anderson's workshop has arrived!

This 24-fret Angel model boasts a stunning quilted maple grain and a complex blue burst finish that truly shines!

The Angel, with its 24 frets, offers smooth playability and overcomes the hurdles of scales often faced by guitarists.

While largely inheriting the standard Drop Top body shape, the Angel refines the design by shifting the deepest point on the 6th string side to around the 19th fret, and the deepest point of the cutaway on the 1st string side to approximately the 24th fret. This exquisitely adjusted outline provides easy access to the higher frets, making it a truly appealing model. With its sharper, more aggressive look compared to the Drop Top, this guitar is sure to unlock even more of the player's potential!

It's no exaggeration to say that Tom Anderson laid the foundation for modern custom components. Through meticulous wood management, in-house manufactured pickups, and careful, time-consuming setup to maximize the performance of each guitar, Tom Guitars employs world-class woodworking techniques, high-quality wood selection, and precise setup. The fast response, satisfying to any player, is truly exceptional.

The Angel is a modern model that newly adopts and realizes the 24-fret specification, which Tom Guitars had not produced until over a decade ago. Before the Angel's release, many people had requested a 24-fret guitar, and when it was announced in 2014, you could almost hear the cheers of fans excited about the arrival of this long-awaited specification!

This particular guitar features a lightweight swamp ash back that produces a crisp yet expansive and clear tone, combined with quilted maple that provides a nicely tight and controlled overall resonance. The bright tonal character of the heat-treated caramel maple neck and the well-balanced, light yet sustained midrange with excellent attack are also appealing features. The maple neck features a moderately slim Even Taper shape with excellent grip, and the fingerboard is made of Indian rosewood. The tone is sharp yet possesses a pleasant, resilient body, and a lustrous midrange is elegantly woven together. All materials used are fused together through Tom Anderson's high-level manufacturing process, providing a naturally comfortable playing experience and a stable, unwavering tone that supports your playing.

The pickups are a two-humbucker layout (H1/H2), offering a user-friendly balance of power and thickness, and a drive sound with the clear expressiveness characteristic of Tom Anderson. Although it's a two-humbucker layout, it uses a 5-way selector, with the 2nd and 4th positions wired in parallel for outputting the respective humbuckers. Slightly different from coil splitting, it possesses both softness and sharpness, and its uniquely clear sound, which cancels out hum noise, is surprisingly versatile and will be a strong ally for craftsman-like guitarists involved in delicate work such as recording. Furthermore, when the 2-humbucker mix is selected in the 3rd position, pulling the tone knob allows for the output of a coil-split mix, providing a total of 6 tonal patterns that can be selected with simple operation—a truly practical feature. (Note: It is not possible to output a coil-split output for only one humbucker.) The comprehensive specifications that cater to a wide range of uses are a hallmark of Tom Anderson's craftsmanship.

The Angel model's unique 24 frets, combined with the body's horn shape and the contoured neck joint, make them easily accessible, and the satin finish of the neck further enhances playability.

This instrument is lightweight at approximately 3.07kg and well-balanced. It offers user-friendly operation that players will appreciate during long live performances and recording sessions!

With its rich wood resonance, unparalleled creativity, and refined craftsmanship, this is a masterpiece that carves a new legend for this prestigious West Coast brand, which has gained many fans in Japan! The 24-fret Angel model is irresistible for technically skilled players. Please try it out!
