A fascinating 1883 Kingdom of Hawaii silver dollar featuring King Kalakaua I, Hawaii’s final reigning king. The reverse displays the crowned Hawaiian coat of arms along with the famous motto “Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Aina I Ka Pono,” meaning “The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.”

Designed by Charles E. Barber, this impressive crown-sized coin was struck in .900 fine silver, weighs approximately 26.73 grams, and had an original mintage of 500,000 pieces.
