Here is an 1889 Liberty Head “V” Nickel with strong Very Fine detail and plenty of remaining definition throughout the design.

Liberty’s coronet, hair, stars, and facial features remain clearly visible, while the reverse wreath, lettering, and large Roman numeral “V” are still well defined. The coin appears to have been lightly cleaned or wiped, so it is being offered honestly as VF Details.

The 1889 is a better early date in the Liberty Nickel series, with a mintage of only 15,881,361 pieces. It is a solid circulated example for a date set without having to chase a problem-free certified coin.

This old nickel has clearly spent some time in circulation, but after more than 135 years, it still has enough detail left to look respectable doing it.

Please review the enlarged photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description and provide the best representation of the coin’s surfaces and overall appearance.
