Original 1904 real photo postcard (RPPC) addressed to the Inside Inn, St. Louis World’s Fair, postmarked French Lick, Indiana, September 5, 1904.

The postcard is addressed to Mr. Mac Close at the Inside Inn, St. Louis, Missouri, Exposition Grounds, c/o Orchestra. The Inside Inn was the large temporary hotel constructed within the grounds of the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition, commonly known as the St. Louis World’s Fair.

The image side shows a private photographic outdoor scene with four individuals posed beneath trees in a wooded picnic or park setting. Handwritten captions on the image appear to read “Pullin’ it” and “I dare ye,” with additional period writing along the left margin. A postal or receiving mark is also visible on the image side.

The reverse features an undivided-back “Post Card” format with the printed instruction “THIS SIDE FOR THE ADDRESS,” consistent with pre-1907 postcard production when messages were generally written on the image side.

Condition:
Heavy fading and light contrast to the image, scattered surface wear, toning, soiling, staining, corner and edge wear, and postal/handling marks as shown. The written address and Inside Inn / Exposition Grounds details remain legible. Please see photos for condition.
