 1965 Kennedy Half Dollar. Sourced directly from a long-time collector's estate, this coin marks the historic transitional year when the United States Mint changed the composition of half dollars from 90% silver to a 40% silver clad alloy to conserve precious metal reserves.

US Mint temporarily suspended the use of mint marks from 1965 to 1967 to discourage coin hoarding, this Philadelphia-struck coin does not feature a mint mark. A wonderful addition to a silver stack or a vintage United States coin collection.
