Greetings from South Florida ~ Here we offer for your consideration ~ A antique Hudson River landscape painting. This piece of art was found in a 250 yr old mansion in upstate New York, where the family said it had hung on the wall of the library for well over 100+ years. The frame in which it sets is its original to the painting. Not exactly sure of the artist. It was quite common for the Hudson paintings not to be signed, as they were done on the spur of the moment, while out among the woods, rivers, and streams of New York state. I've been told that it could be possibly painted by one several notable Hudson Valley Artist's. Its a quite beautiful little gem of a painting that will be a wonderful addition to your own collections of works of art. Measures approx: 10 1/2 inches in width, and stands at approx: 9 inches in height. Sold as-is. MAKE US A OFFER< AS ALL WILL BE CONSIDERED!! ANY questions??? Please do ask. I WANTED TO ADD THAT THIS PAINTING comes with several very old HOLIDAY postcards, and a signature card, made of OLD PAPER, in what I believe has 2 single name initials in hand written cursive. Tjis was attached to th3 BACK OF THE PAINTING. For the serious, in the know collectors of the Hudson artist's group, it may help to identify by the writings there of, as well as the worth. I purchased from a family member that grew up in the home. After living there for 7 decades and hearing stories past down from the paintings history and origin, I was told that their "4 times" GREAT~GRANDFATHER... that it was painted by William Brown, a friend of the family. But there is NO SIGNATURE THAT I can see, nor could the appraiser give his expert opionion guarante
eing that to be proof that it was painted by Brown.
It is indeed a wonderdul, true to life painting. In its original period era frame made of plaster, wood, with gold gilt.
