• The Whirlwind Tour: This LAX arrival kicked off a massive 24-city tour where the band delivered 32 performances in just 34 days.
• Witty Banter: The room was completely packed with reporters shouting over one another, leading to a chaotic, free-form interview. When reporters asked what they planned to do with all their money, John Lennon simply quipped, "We don't make plans."
• Dispelling Movie Rumors: During the session, John and George explicitly joked with reporters to clear up a running mystery from their debut movie A Hard Day's Night, which had just been released that summer.
• The Follow-Up Visit: The Beatles quickly departed LAX later that evening to prepare for their opening night at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. They returned to Los Angeles just five days later to perform their historic, recorded set at the Hollywood Bowl on August 23..
