pattern sterling silver heart-shaped dish made by the famous American
silversmith Gorham Manufacturing Company.
Design Details
- Pattern: Chantilly
by Gorham, which was originally designed in 1895 by the celebrated
silversmith William Christmas Codman. Inspired by 18th-century French
Rococo design, it features graceful scrolls, floral motifs, and a distinct
repoussé ribbon bow at the top.
- Craftsmanship: The
dish showcases detailed piercing (reticulation) throughout the border,
with a solid, polished heart shape left in the center.
Historical & Collectible Value
- Material: Solid
sterling silver (0.925 purity).
- Origin: Made in
the United States. Pieces with this design date anywhere from the turn of
the 20th century through production runs in the 1930s–1950s.
