A.G. Harley Jones was a notable ceramic artist active in England during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. He was particularly recognized for his hand-painted decorative vases, often featuring pastoral scenes, landscapes, and figures, executed with a high level of artistic skill.
His work reflects the prevailing tastes of the period, which favored idyllic and romanticized depictions of rural life. Vases bearing his mark are sought after by collectors for their quality craftsmanship and artistic merit, representing a significant segment of British decorative art from the turn of the 20th century. Please see photos for condition and note some paint crackling. One vase also has a hairline crack to the bottom of each handle which appears to be a final firing fault. No visible chips to either vase. Each vase is approx 30.5 cm tall and 18cm wide at the handles. Combined weight of approx 2 kg. Please see my other listings Thanks for looking.
