US Army or Air Force Vietnam Military Service Watch - The Grunt
These are fantastic reproductions of the 1966 Vietnam War Period DTU-2A/P Wristwatch. It was among the first to be issued under the new MIL-W-3818B standard. The Army required "an accurate, disposable, and non-maintainable watch, in either plastic or metal, to be issued to infantry and other ground troops during the Vietnam War".
Each watch features:
A black dial with white numerals and indices.
Battery-powered Quartz movement.
An inner track for 24-hour readings.
A 25cm olive green wrist strap, which is held in place by spring bars.
The watch face encased in a burnished grey metal housing.
A snap-off back casing.
It measures 32mm across, not including the crown.
The reverse is stamped with a serial number as well as the date, 'AUG 1966'.
A flat brown presentation box with silver text.
Each watch has a maximum wrist size of 23cm.
