The Krahns (or Kran) form an African ethnic group present in Liberia – especially inland – and to a lesser degree in Ivory Coast.
The Kran are part of a sub-ethnic group of the Dan. Even if there are a multitude of Dan masks, the Kran masks really go beyond the aesthetic norms of the ethnic group: we are very far from the idealized woman's or child's face which are normally the basis of all the masks of the region.
