Framed abstract painting, signed lower right “S. Hantai” and dated 1972.
Seems to be a press and peel paint / decalcomania technique.
I have no proof of originality, but it's convincing for me. I bought in Hungary from an estate liquidator.
Sold as found, not authenticated, with no COA or provenance.
Approx. size including frame: 32 x 25 cm / 12.5 x 10 in.
Simon Hantaï was a Hungarian-French abstract artist, known for post-war modernist and abstract works.
Good vintage condition with minor wear.
