Roselane Pottery was founded in 1938 by William and George Fields. They initially worked out of their home in Pasadena, California and by the early 1940’s were marketing their figurines in retail stores. This success led to the construction of a factory on Main Street Pasadena. In 1968 it was relocated to Baldwin Park where it remained until 1974.
This charming Deer or Doe figurine in a nose up pose features a stylized Mid-Century Modern form with mottled brown glaze. The base is stamped "Roselane Pasadena Calif" which dates this piece to sometime before 1968.
It measures approximately 8.5" tall and is in very good condition with no cracks, chips or repairs noted; there is a large piece of excess clay on the bottom that wasn't removed during manufacturing which does not detract from display as it is level with the base.
