This beautiful vintage Japanese Satsuma-style wall pocket vase features an incredibly detailed, hand-painted raised "moriage" clay slip dragon design. The three-dimensional white and gold dragon wraps dramatically around a matte periwinkle blue and glossy tan porcelain backdrop, detailed with classic cloud and smoke swirls. Designed to hang flat against a wall, it features a built-in hanging bracket on the back and is stamped with a red cherry blossom flower "Japan" maker's mark. It is a stunning piece of mid-century Asian decorative art that perfectly complements an eclectic gallery wall or dragonware collection.

This is in good to excellent pre-owned condition. There is a minor chip on the raw ceramic back rim near the bottom edge tip, as pictured in the close-up photos. It is hidden entirely from view when the piece is hung flat against the wall. See photos for overall condition and use as part of the description.
