This sculpture is a detailed reproduction of the famous Sleeping Satyr, also known as the Barberini Faun, originally created in the Hellenistic period (circa 220 BC).

The original marble statue is housed in the Glyptothek Museum in Munich and was discovered in the Mausoleum of Hadrian in the 17th century.

Depicting a drunken satyr, a follower of Dionysos, the figure captures a rare moment of vulnerability and relaxation in ancient mythological art, rendered here in a refined classical interpretation.

⚒️ Material & Craftsmanship

This statue is made using the Cast Marble process, a technique combining natural crushed Greek marble with a small amount of resin acting as a binder.

Over 90% of the final piece consists of genuine marble powder, giving it the appearance and texture of solid stone while allowing for fine sculptural detail.

Each piece is carefully handmade and hand painted in Greece, ensuring a unique finish and high artistic quality.

The material is water- and weather-resistant, does not form bubbles, will not crack under normal conditions, and can be cleaned with common household products.

Please note: This statue is handcrafted from cast marble or alabaster. Minor surface variations, seams, or small imperfections are natural and enhance its unique, authentic character.
