This is an enchanting painting I have owned for a number of years.  It is signed on the front and on the back by the artist Sayoko Ikeno, a female Japanese artist that I have not been able to identify.  The back of the painting on the right corner is signed in Japanese and recently, using Google Translate, I was able to translate the writing, which is shown in the photo.  I had determined the subject matter is the St. Margaret's Missionary (Episcopal) School in Tokyo, Japan.  The translation confirmed that, stating Rikkyo School, which is another name for the St. Margaret's School.

The painting measures approx 18 inches tall and approx 15 inches wide, and 3/4 inches deep.  It is made of canvas stretched on boards.  The painting is signed on the front of the canvas and then again on the boards on back.

The colors and details in the painting are really beautiful.  I do not know the age of the painting, but from the aging on the back of the canvas, you can tell it is vintage, if not antique.  I acquired the painting from a local living estate sale a number of years ago.

Included in the photos (the last photo) is a more recent photo I found in researching the school.
