Today I am offering this awesome vintage airline collectors item.
It is an EXTRA-LARGE embroidered patch, probably used on the back of an airport employee uniform jacket or coat.
It has the iconic AWA name and branding embroidered in their traditional gray and burgundy colors.
The airline's logo features a stylized "W" with a red sun-like symbol above it.
The sun image being an important feature as the airline was headquartered in sunny Arizona.
The large oval patch is off-white. The border of the patch is whipstitched.
The back has a coating on the material.
It measures approximately as follows:
It's definitely an up-and-coming collectible for connoisseurs of aviation memorabilia.
The airline is defunct, having gone out of business in 2005.
That's been over 20 years now.
Fans of air travel history will certainly appreciate getting a jump on owning this piece before it becomes impossible to find at a reasonable price.
It's in super condition, clean and free from any damage.
The back coating is only slightly crackly but not crumbley or a significant issue.
It's a sturdy, quality fabric patch.
I'll ship it in a 1st class envelope. This has no tracking but is cheap.
