Entitled "Christ and the Children" this C. 1971 Japanese Kappazuni woodblock print with hand color stencil, is by the celebrated Japanese Modernist printmaker Sadao Watanabe (1913-1996) famous for his innovative depictions of Biblical scenes . Measuring 7 1/2" x 6 1/4" image, 13" x 8 3/4" full sheet it is signed in pencil and with the artist's red stamp lower right, dated 1971 lower left. On mulberry rice paper, it is in excellent condition with no holes, tears, stains, toning or fading . This is one of the artist's highly regarded prints .
