SIZE: This watch chain is 12” in total length end to end ~ In addition to the regular chain, there is an additional small section of chain off the t-bar. This is about 1 & 1/4” ~ The oval fob pendant piece measures 1” in height; 5/8” in width 

DESCRIPTION: This auction features a vintage gold plated Albert pocket watch chain. I believe the chain would be considered a cable link or rectangular box link. This then leads to the t-bar on one side and the swivel clip on the opposite side. In addition to the regular chain, there is an additional extra piece of chain added under the t-bar. This then leads to the oval fob pendant piece. This is textured on one side and was likely intended to have a monogram. Thankfully, though, there is no monogram present. It is a neat vintage piece and would definitely be a great addition to any vintage watch collection.

MARKINGS: Although I looked everywhere, I could not find any maker’s marks or gold plating hallmarks. Even so, I do believe it is gold plated. Please just keep in mind that it is NOT marked as such.

CONDITION: Fair to Fair Plus ~ This watch chain  appears to be in Fair to Fair Plus condition for the age and use. I don’t usually rate my items in more than “Fair” condition, but I do feel this is an exception to that rule. I did inspect the links under my loupe and do not see any that are broken or damaged. I will note that it can become a bit tangled up on itself when not flat. I’d personally recommend that it be hung up when not in use because of this. Aside from this irritation, though,  the chain itself does appear to be strong with no issues to note. The swivel clasp does still open and close correctly and securely. The oval fob pendant is doing well with no issues to note. I do feel a gentle cleaning would likely make it shine even brighter, but I will leave any cleaning or polishing to the new owner. I do not see any major issues that should keep this watch chain from being used or worn.

AGE/YEAR MADE: Although exact age is unknown, I do believe this chain is vintage. An educated guess would be between the 1960s-1980s.

On nearly all of my items, if you are dissatisfied with your purchase, you are welcome to return it for a full refund within two weeks (14 days) from the day it was received. Return shipping will be paid by the buyer, though. In certain cases, I may sell an item for a close friend of family member that does not belong to me. Those are usually the only instances that I do not allow returns. I figure, if the item does not belong to me, I should allow that decision to be made by the person who does own it.
