Up for bid is a set of 9 Kunzite specimen from Afghanistan that illustrate the variability of Kunzite fluorescence. First row of specimens were chosen for good Violet response under SW UV. Second row of specimens were chosen for good Blue response under MW UV. Third row of specimens were chosen for good Orange response under LW UV.

First picture is under SW UV and shows that most specimens fluoresce Violet or Blue and Violet but some have no fluorescence at all.

Second picture is under MW UV and shows that most specimens fluoresce Blue or Blue and Violet but some have no fluorescence at all.

Third picture is under LW UV and shows that most specimens fluoresce Orange. It is interesting to note that specimens that had no SW or MW fluorescence have the best LW fluorescence.

Fourth picture is under White Light and shows color variation from clear to pink.

Like many older Kunzite specimens, the location was just given as Kunar Province, Afghanistan. There is one major Kunzite location in this area, the Dara-i-Pech pegmatite field, so that is my best guess for a specific location.

If purchased individually, total price for the 9 specimens would be $110. I am starting the bidding at a little more than half that. Specimens range in size from 0.9" to 1.6", and total weight for the 9 specimens is 3.9 oz. Below is a detailed description of each specimen.

I only charge actual shipping costs with no extra charges for packing or shipping materials and will gladly combine shipments.
