Up for bid is a Kunzite specimen from Afghanistan with exceptional Sky Blue Fluorescence under Mid Wave UV. The fluorescence of Kunzite is quite variable. It typically fluoresces Violet or Blue under SW UV, Blue or Violet under MW UV and Orange under LW UV. However, the fluorescent intensity under each wavelength varies considerably from piece to piece.

This particular specimen fluoresces Violet at average intensity under SW UV, Bright Sky Blue under MW UV, and Dim Orange under LW UV. The UV source is noted on the pictures.

Like many older Kunzite specimens, the location was given as Kunar Province, Afghanistan. There is one major Kunzite location in this area, the Dara-i-Pech pegmatite field, so that is my best guess for a specific location.
