This is a single Armstrong FM-500SC solid-state MOSFET FM power amplifier, rated for more than 500 watts output across the full 87.5–108 MHz FM broadcast band. This requires only approximately 8–16 watts of drive from a compatible low-power FM exciter to reach full output power. Exciter is not included/ The unit features 50-ohm N-type input and output connectors, a built-in low-pass filter for excellent harmonic suppression, and comprehensive protection circuitry that guards against excessive SWR, overdrive, and thermal overload with automatic reset. Housed in a standard 3U 19-inch rack-mount chassis and weighs about 85 lbs when packed to ship. Power supply is universal and selectable for 100/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz. These amplifiers are well-regarded in the broadcast community for reliable performance in LPFM, translator, and backup applications when paired with a suitable exciter. This unit was working extremely well when it was removed from service earlier this year. One of the fans is a little slower than the others and could benefit from swapping it out. Unit is nice and clean and works well. As you can see, it is built like a tank. I would prefer pickup if possible.
I also have 2 more units with the Armstrong FM100S coupler so you can combine the two units to make a 1000 watt transmitter. That system is 3 pieces. I would be willing to make a deal on all 4 pieces if one buyer wants them all.
Shipping will be expensive due to size and weight. Box will be approximately 29x26x14 @ 85 LBS
