Description
This vintage postcard depicts the Monument to Shota Rustaveli in Tbilisi, Georgia, during the Soviet era. The statue shows the medieval Georgian poet in traditional dress atop a substantial stone pedestal, surrounded by evergreen and deciduous trees. The back of the card is printed in Russian (Cyrillic script) and identifies the subject as 'Памятник Шота Руставели' (Monument to Shota Rustaveli) in Tbilisi, with photography credited to I. Raskina.
