EXTERIOR: SHOW-READY PRESERVATION
Paint: Professional $10,000 bare-metal respray in original color. Always kept under a car cover.
Bodywork: Stripped to the steel and rebuilt. All critical exterior rust (fenders, etc.) professionally addressed.
Aesthetics: Iconic NACA hood with dual scoops, Mach 1 front splitter, and brand-new locks (previous hood available with sale)
Wheels/Tires: Staggered BF Goodrich Radial TAs (~2,500 miles). P275/60/R15 Rear | P245/60/R15 Front.
DRIVETRAIN: RELIABLE AMERICAN MUSCLE
The Motor: Rebuilt 302 V8 (~6,000 miles). Fires up first time, every time, even after 6 months of storage (no paper evidence of rebuild - was advised at time of purchase)
Upgrades: New engine mounts, new transmission mount, new engine fan, new triple gauges (center console mount), new brake master cyclinder, and new rear leaf springs.
Maintenance: Professional annual oil changes regardless of mileage.
INTERIOR & SAFETY
Fresh Components: Brand-new seatbelts, new seats, new door covers, and replaced dashboard pad.
Gauges: Replaced Plexi/covers. Water, Oil, and Battery gauges are 100% operational.
Glass: Brand-new window felt strips installed for smooth, rattle-free operation.
This is a high-end "rolling project." The expensive work is finished; the following minor items remain for the next owner to bring it to a 100% show-standard:
Electrical: Rear running lights and headlights work perfectly (albeit dim due to technology of the day). However, the brake lights and turn signals are currently non-op (likely a turn signal switch/grounding issue). Fuel gauge is also non-op.
Weatherstripping: While the window felts and trunk seals are new, other seals are original. A full replacement of these rubbers is recommended to ensure a 100% watertight seal against hose spray.
Transmission: Original 3-on-the-floor manual. Occasionally pops out of gear under heavy downhill braking (likely a linkage adjustment). Minor low-speed clutch judder present.
Body/Interior: This was originally a green interior, minor evidence under black leather paint on rear seats. Roof liner is solid, missing sunvisors. There are minor rust holes in the trunk pan (see photos - the last bit of metalwork needed on the car). The interior carpet needs a final tidy-up/adhesive/door strip covers, and the rear window is missing the chrome trim.
