Mossi crest of Burkina Faso. Piece over 50 years old,
The Mossis are a people of West Africa, established mainly in Burkina Faso, as well as in certain bordering regions of surrounding countries (Ghana in particular).
More than six million people consider themselves Mossi. Membership in this ethnic community is mainly based on the use of the Moré language (Moore), and the practice of a certain number of family and community traditions, including kinship relationships based on a complex system of matrimonial alliances.
