Finely hand carved from wood and displaying a rich aged patina acquired through years of handling. The skull motif is a traditional symbol of mortality and the transient nature of life, themes frequently encountered in Japanese art and craftsmanship.

The netsuke features himotoshi (cord holes) and is carved in the round, allowing appreciation from every angle. An attractive and unusual collector's piece suitable for collections of Japanese art, netsuke, folk art, curiosities, and memento mori objects.

Condition: Good vintage condition with signs of age and use. Overall well preserved and displays beautifully.
