Here we have a stunning desktop model of the English electric lightning supersonic RAF fighter. This model is a nice size apparently 50cm long and made by skyland models Middlesex. the model is nicely made by what looks like mahogany/hardwood but the finish has started to deteriorate from cleaning and UV damage. The lacquer used appears smoke damage but has just darkened the rest where the silver is bright has just been lost through cleaning. As the story goes this model was owned by one of its designers/engineer but unfortunately the name escapes me. The tail did suffer some damage and it was glued back very poorly it has since been removed and glued back in the correct position but does need painting but have left this for the next guy to sort, looks worse in the pictures. it comes with an original Air ministry photography but not sure if the name on the back of the picture has anything to do with the model owner. all in all this is a stunning piece of aviation history and wouldn't be surprised if this is the only model of its kind. please see pictures for condition and size information. thanks for looking other great models available
