Vintage condition with signs of age. All 4 rear buttons have come off - I still have 2 of them, 2 are missing.
the material at left waistband is dry and ripped 2” down- would likely continue to rip with wear. These are a collectors item or would be amazing to use the front printed panel for a patch of some sort. Front is in excellent condition. They were probably only worn one to two times but age has weakened the woven backside material.

Catalina Sportswear by Los Angeles based Pacific Knitting Mill created some of the most iconic swimsuits of the 1930’s-1950’s and were worn by Hollywood starlets, including Bette Davis, Joan Blondell, and Olivia de Havilland and on all of that beauty queens in the Miss America, Miss USA & Miss Teen USA pageants.
Founded in 1928, the company was used their location near Hollywood as part of their glamorous image.
The 1930’s glitz of the sliver screen had Catalina adopting the slogan “Styled for the Stars of Hollywood“.
At the time, the average Catalina swimsuit retailed between $8-$15, equivalent to $200-$365 today
In the 1940s they hired several of Hollywood’s most famous designers to work on designs for them. These included Orry Kelly, Milo Anderson, Edith Head and Travis Banton and Mary Ann DeWeese.
Catalina is one of the oldest clothing manufacturers in California.
