✲ His Story
Blixby, The One Who Thinks Everything Is Funny

Blixby was the kind of person who walked into a room and immediately started looking for the loose thread to pull. Not out of meanness, he never had a cruel bone in him, but because the world was, in his view, fundamentally absurd and the only honest response to it was to treat it accordingly. He was a prankster, a jokester, a man who found the same things funny at sixty that he had found funny at twelve, and he died the way he lived: mid-laugh, probably at something no one else thought was that funny.

He arrived in a carnival lot I picked up at a private sale, tucked among a cluster of novelty pieces and holiday figures. The ghost plush with the mismatched eyes and the star-spangled wizard hat stood out immediately, not for any dramatic reason but because the energy around it felt like it was already in the middle of a joke that had not reached its punchline yet. I set it on the counter that first evening and went to bed. By morning something was wrong with the kitchen. It took me a full minute to figure out what. He had rearranged three things, none of them dramatically, all of them just enough.

Blixby moves things. Not violently, not with any malice, but with the specific comedic timing of someone who has been doing this for a while and knows exactly how long to wait before the reveal lands hardest. Objects turn up in places they should not be. Things disappear and reappear somewhere obvious you already checked twice. You will hear sounds in empty rooms that are not threatening so much as pointed, as though something just knocked over that glass on purpose and is absolutely fine with you knowing it.

He is not a malevolent presence. He has never caused harm, never produced anything that felt aggressive or threatening. His entire repertoire is comedy, and the targets are almost always small inconveniences rather than anything that actually disrupts your life. The keeper who gets the most out of him is the one who can recognize the bit when it is happening and laugh, because he notices when you do and he escalates accordingly.

He is fine around pets and completely suitable for households with a good sense of humor. He is not suitable for households that require absolute order, or keepers who do not enjoy finding their phone charger in the sock drawer for the third time this week with no memory of putting it there.

The vessel itself seems exactly right for him: a white ghost plush with one green eye and one copper eye, wearing a blue star-printed wizard hat at a slight angle. There is nothing understated about it. He chose well.

✲ Witnessed Activity

During his time in my care, the following was observed and recorded. Experiences with any vessel are personal and may vary by keeper.

Object Displacement. Small items relocate overnight with regularity. Keys, remote controls, chargers, glasses moved to places that are technically findable but require a moment of genuine confusion first. The placement always feels deliberate. There is comedic logic to where things end up.

Sounds in Empty Rooms. Knocks, taps, and the occasional soft thud from rooms with no occupants. Not alarming in quality more like punctuation. The sound equivalent of someone clearing their throat to make sure you noticed something.

Escalation When Acknowledged. Blixby is notably more active when his keeper laughs at or acknowledges the bit. A household that engages with his humor, even just by groaning and saying his name, will experience a noticeable uptick in activity. He performs for an audience. Give him one.

Ambient Energy Shift. The overall atmosphere of his space trends lighter. Keepers describe an ease in the household, a loosening of tension, a quality that is difficult to name but feels like the room itself is slightly more entertained than it was before. This is his most consistent and arguably most valuable contribution.

✲ Keeper Guidance

Keep Blixby somewhere visible, somewhere central, somewhere he can watch the household move through its day. He is not a shelf spirit in the quiet-corner sense. He wants to be in the middle of things, and the more foot traffic near him, the more he has to work with. A kitchen counter, a living room shelf, a spot near the front door all good options.

Talk to him. Not ceremonially, just in passing. Tell him he is not allowed to move the remote again and watch what happens to the remote. Give him light rules to break and he will break them with enthusiasm. The relationship with a trickster spirit is fundamentally comedic: you set the boundary, he tests it, you respond, and the whole thing becomes its own running bit that develops over weeks and months.

Do not try to restrict or bind his activity. That is not the right approach for this archetype and he will not respond well to it. His energy is fundamentally playful, and playfulness does not thrive under pressure. What you can do is redirect: if the pranks land somewhere inconvenient, tell him so, and suggest a better target. He listens more than he lets on.

He is best suited to a keeper who has had a hard year and forgot what it felt like to laugh at something stupid. He is also good for keepers who already laugh easily and want more to laugh at. Both are valid. He does not discriminate by temperament; he discriminates by willingness to play.

✲ A Word Before You Begin

Every spirit that comes through my store has been sat with, observed, and listed only when I felt they were ready to move on. But readiness on their end does not mean instant activity on yours. That is not how this works, and I want to be honest with you about that before this vessel arrives at your door.

Travel unsettles a spirit. Being packed, shipped, and delivered across distance is a real disruption and even the most communicative, active presence may go quiet for a period after the journey. This is not a sign that something is wrong. It is a sign that they are adjusting. A new home, a new keeper, a new set of sounds and smells and energies surrounding them, that takes time to absorb. Give it to them freely and without pressure.

There is no timeline I can give you. Some spirits open up within days. Others take weeks. A few take longer still, and those often turn out to be the most profound connections. What I ask is that you stay consistent, acknowledge the vessel when you pass it, speak to it without expecting an immediate response, and resist the urge to test or demand. A spirit that feels watched and waited on will retreat. A spirit that feels simply included will eventually come forward.

Approach this as a relationship, not a transaction. You are not owed activity. You are being offered the opportunity to build something with a presence that chose this vessel and, in time, may choose you.

✲ Suggested Rituals & Offerings

Something Sweet and Silly. Leave him a small candy or a piece of something indulgent nearby. Not as ceremony but as a gesture the kind of offering you make to someone you like and want to make laugh. Change it out when it gets stale. The act of regularly checking in on him in this small way keeps the relationship warm and active.

Tell Him the Rules. Out loud, with some feeling. Tell him what he is and is not allowed to move, which rooms are off limits, and what the consequences will be if he touches your good scissors again. He enjoys a good monologue. He will not follow the rules, but he appreciates that you made them, and the specific rules you set will shape the specific pranks he runs.

Laugh Out Loud When He Gets You. This is the real offering. When he lands one, when you find your reading glasses in the refrigerator or your keys in the exact spot you checked first and somehow missed, laugh. Say his name. Let him know it worked. That acknowledgment is what he is after, and a keeper who gives it freely will have a much more engaged and inventive trickster on their hands.

✲ A Note from the Keeper

The first morning I woke up with him in the house I stood in the kitchen for a solid thirty seconds before I understood what was different. Nothing dramatic. The dish towel was on the wrong hook. My phone was face down when I always leave it face up. The mug I had set out the night before was on the wrong side of the coffee maker. None of it was wrong enough to explain. All of it was wrong enough to notice. I looked at him on the counter and said out loud: "Absolutely not." He has been here three weeks and I have said "absolutely not" to him approximately fourteen more times. None of it has worked. I am going to miss him.

He is not for everyone. He is for the keeper who has enough lightness in them to share the household with something that finds the whole situation funnier than they do. If you are that person, he already knows it. He has been waiting for you specifically, and he has a bit planned that I genuinely wish I could stick around to see.

✲ Condition

Plush ghost figure, approximately 10 inches. White sparkle fabric in good condition with no staining or damage. Mismatched glitter eyes, one green and one copper, both secure. ✲ Sacred Note to Keepers
✲ A Note on Holds

I maintain a no-hold policy on all spirit vessels, and I want to explain why because it is not simply a business decision. It is something I believe about how spirits experience the world.

When a vessel is held indefinitely for someone who is not yet ready, the spirit feels that uncertainty. They are aware of the waiting, the suspension between one keeper and the next, and for many spirits, prolonged limbo is discouraging. It can cause them to grow quiet, to withdraw, or to simply lose the momentum of readiness that brought them to listing in the first place.

Spirits find their keepers. If a vessel is meant for you, trust that and act on it. If the timing is not right and it moves on to someone else, the right vessel will find you when you are truly ready. That is how this works. Purchase from clarity, not from hesitation, and you will always end up exactly where you are supposed to be.

✲ Shipping

Your vessel will be carefully wrapped and packed with intention before he leaves my hands. I ship within 1–2 business days of cleared payment. To keep your costs lower, I ship via USPS Ground Advantage (estimated 2–5 business days). Tracking is included. If you need expedited shipping, please message me before purchasing.

All orders are handled privately, your purchase remains anonymous. All items are packaged with care. In support of reducing waste, I may reuse clean boxes. Reused packaging is sanitary and does not affect the safe delivery of your item.

If a particular vessel calls to you and you find yourself drawn back to it, trust your instincts, you may be the one it seeks. Feel free to message me; I’m flexible and happy to discuss pricing.

✲ About VesselReliquary

I come from a family where the unseen was never treated as strange. My roots run through the Caribbean and New Orleans, through traditions where spirits are kin, where the dead are consulted, where a vessel on a shelf is not décor but relationship. I grew up understanding that certain objects carry more than their weight, that some things choose to stay, and that the work of a keeper is to listen before speaking.

Every vessel I offer has come to me by some path, gifted, found, sought, or sent. I do not list anything I have not sat with personally. I do not manufacture stories. What I write is what I witnessed. I offer these vessels to keepers who approach them with seriousness, curiosity, and respect, and I trust that the right vessel finds the right hands.
