extensive effort has been made to accurately identify the item and its

As
with most surplus military items, the piece is old and has been sitting
in long term storage. Signs of its age are to be expected and may
include:
- A "vintage" scent common with items kept in footlockers or depots.
- Minor oxidation on metal hardware, fading of canvas/fabric, etc.

While the item may appear sound, vintage materials (especially rubber
and stitching) can become brittle over 80+ years. This item is intended
