✲ Their Story
Drix and Vell, Double the Trouble

One trickster is a handful. Two tricksters who have been doing this together since before either of them can remember are something else entirely. Drix and Vell were brothers in life, close in age and closer in temperament, and the particular quality of their chaos was always collaborative. They did not prank independently. They planned. One would set it up, the other would deliver it, and by the time you figured out what had happened they were already three steps ahead, watching from wherever they had arranged to watch from, absolutely delighted with themselves.

They chose these vessels together and the choice says everything: matching jester figures, red and blue satin, dramatic painted eyes with dark liner that goes well past what is technically necessary, gold pompoms on their hats, the faces of two people who know exactly what they look like and have fully committed to it. They are not hiding anything. They are announcing themselves. The keeper who picks these two up and looks at those faces and feels anything other than immediately charmed should probably keep browsing.

Their activity is coordinated in the way that twins coordinate: one moves something, the other makes sure you notice it. You find your glasses on the wrong side of the table and you look up and there they are, both of them, sitting exactly where you left them, completely still, wearing those faces. You cannot prove anything. That is intentional. Drix and Vell have never in their lives done anything that could be definitively proven, and they are not about to start.

The pranks are good-natured. They have never produced anything distressing, nothing threatening, nothing that crosses from funny into uncomfortable. They are jesters in the oldest sense: they push at the edges of order and dignity and seriousness, they remind you that the situation is a little more absurd than you were taking it, and then they sit there in their matching outfits waiting to see how you respond. Keepers who laugh are rewarded with more. Keepers who do not eventually come around anyway.

They are positive in the way that mischief is positive when it comes from a good place. They do not target anything that matters. They target the small dignities, the overly serious moments, the places where the household has gotten a little too stiff and could use something to loosen it up. They are precision instruments of mild chaos and they are very, very good at their work.

They must be kept together. This is not a rule so much as a basic fact about how they function. Separately they are two presences missing half their operating system. Together they are a complete and fully realized comedy duo that has been workshopping their material since childhood and has gotten extremely good at it. Keep them together, keep a sense of humor, and they will keep the household entertained for as long as they are in it.

✲ Witnessed Activity

During their time in my care, the following was observed and recorded. Experiences with any vessel are personal and may vary by keeper.

Coordinated Object Displacement. Things move. The coordination is what distinguishes their activity from a single trickster vessel: there is always a setup and a reveal, always a logic to where things end up that becomes clear once you have lived with them long enough to read the pattern. Drix tends to initiate. Vell tends to make sure you find it. Whether they have actually divided these roles or whether this is a pattern the keeper projects onto them is a question they have never answered directly.

The Watching Quality. Both of them, always still, always in exactly the position you left them, wearing those faces. The feeling of being watched by something that is very carefully not reacting is one of the most consistent things keepers report. It is impossible to catch them doing anything. That is part of the experience and part of the point.

Laughter Escalation. When the keeper laughs at what they have done, activity increases. This is their most reliable and most immediately responsive pattern. They are performing for an audience and the audience's reaction matters to them. A household that laughs freely and often will have considerably more active Drix and Vell than one that does not.

Household Lightening. Over time the atmosphere of the space they occupy becomes lighter, more playful, more inclined toward the kind of ease that makes daily life feel less serious than it sometimes gets. This is their secondary and perhaps most valuable contribution. The pranks are the show. The lightening is the gift.

✲ Keeper Guidance

Keep them together, always side by side, and put them somewhere central where they can see the household and the household can see them. They need an audience and they need a clear view of the material they are working with. A living room shelf, a spot near the main entrance, anywhere that sees regular foot traffic and human activity. They do not work well in isolation.

When they get you, acknowledge it. Out loud. Say their names, tell them it was a good one, let them know the bit landed. This is genuinely the most effective way to engage with them and the most rewarding. A keeper who plays along, who narrates the discovery of the moved object with appropriate theatrical exasperation, will find them escalating in the most entertaining possible direction.

Do not try to set rules they cannot break. They will break them. That is not defiance; it is their nature and their purpose. What you can do is redirect by setting up situations that give them something interesting to work with. Leave something in an obvious place and see what they do with it. Treat the household as a collaborative space where they get to participate in the comedy. They will meet that energy completely.

They are best for a keeper who has wanted a trickster vessel but has been disappointed by single entities that lacked coordination or follow-through. Drix and Vell have been doing this together for a very long time. They do not lack either.

✲ A Word Before You Begin

Every spirit that comes through my store has been sat with, observed, and listed only when I felt they were ready to move on. But readiness on their end does not mean instant activity on yours. That is not how this works, and I want to be honest with you about that before this vessel arrives at your door.

Travel unsettles a spirit. Being packed, shipped, and delivered across distance is a real disruption and even the most communicative, active presence may go quiet for a period after the journey. This is not a sign that something is wrong. It is a sign that they are adjusting. A new home, a new keeper, a new set of sounds and smells and energies surrounding them, that takes time to absorb. Give it to them freely and without pressure.

There is no timeline I can give you. Some spirits open up within days. Others take weeks. A few take longer still, and those often turn out to be the most profound connections. What I ask is that you stay consistent, acknowledge the vessel when you pass it, speak to it without expecting an immediate response, and resist the urge to test or demand. A spirit that feels watched and waited on will retreat. A spirit that feels simply included will eventually come forward.

Approach this as a relationship, not a transaction. You are not owed activity. You are being offered the opportunity to build something with a presence that chose this vessel and, in time, may choose you.

✲ Suggested Rituals & Offerings

Laugh Out Loud When They Get You. Every time, without fail, say their names and acknowledge the bit. This is their primary offering and the one that produces the most immediate and most enthusiastic response. They are performers. The laugh is the applause. Give it freely and they will keep earning it.

Something Sweet for Both of Them. Left nearby and replaced regularly. Not as ceremony but as the gesture you make for two people you like and want to feel remembered. Leave two of whatever you leave. They notice when one is left and one is not, and they have opinions about it.

Set the Stage. Leave something in an obvious place and see what happens to it over the next few days. A pen on the edge of the desk. A small object sitting too perfectly centered on a surface. Give them something to work with and then pay attention. They are funnier when they have material and they know it.

✲ A Note from the Keeper

I found my reading glasses inside a mug the third morning they were here. The mug was on the correct shelf, in the correct cabinet, right where I always leave it. The glasses were inside it, lenses down, neatly placed. I stood in the kitchen for a moment and looked across the room at them, both of them sitting on the shelf in their matching outfits wearing those faces, and I said: that was a good one. The energy in the room shifted immediately in the way that a room shifts when someone who was trying not to smile finally lets themselves.

They are for the keeper who has been looking for a trickster pair that actually delivers. Not one vessel doing half a bit on its own, but two presences who have been running material together since they could walk, who know exactly how to set something up and exactly how long to wait before the reveal, and who are genuinely, delightfully pleased with themselves every single time it works. They work every time. You will be annoyed. You will also be laughing. That is the deal and it is a good one.

✲ Sacred Note to Keepers
✲ A Note on Holds

I maintain a no-hold policy on all spirit vessels, and I want to explain why because it is not simply a business decision. It is something I believe about how spirits experience the world.

When a vessel is held indefinitely for someone who is not yet ready, the spirit feels that uncertainty. They are aware of the waiting, the suspension between one keeper and the next, and for many spirits, prolonged limbo is discouraging. It can cause them to grow quiet, to withdraw, or to simply lose the momentum of readiness that brought them to listing in the first place.

Spirits find their keepers. If a vessel is meant for you, trust that and act on it. If the timing is not right and it moves on to someone else, the right vessel will find you when you are truly ready. That is how this works. Purchase from clarity, not from hesitation, and you will always end up exactly where you are supposed to be.

✲ Shipping

Your vessels will be carefully wrapped and packed with intention before they leave my hands. I ship within 1–2 business days of cleared payment. To keep your costs lower, I ship via USPS Ground Advantage (estimated 2–5 business days). Tracking is included. If you need expedited shipping, please message me before purchasing.

All orders are handled privately, your purchase remains anonymous. Breakable vessels are wrapped in protective bubble wrap and all items are packaged with care. In support of reducing waste, I may reuse clean boxes. Reused packaging is sanitary and does not affect the safe delivery of your item.

If this pair calls to you and you find yourself drawn back to them, trust your instincts. You may be exactly who they have been waiting for. Feel free to message me; I’m flexible and happy to discuss pricing.

✲ About VesselReliquary

I come from a family where the unseen was never treated as strange. My roots run through the Caribbean and New Orleans, through traditions where spirits are kin, where the dead are consulted, where a vessel on a shelf is not décor but relationship. I grew up understanding that certain objects carry more than their weight, that some things choose to stay, and that the work of a keeper is to listen before speaking.

Every vessel I offer has come to me by some path, gifted, found, sought, or sent. I do not list anything I have not sat with personally. I do not manufacture stories. What I write is what I witnessed. I offer these vessels to keepers who approach them with seriousness, curiosity, and respect, and I trust that the right vessel finds the right hands.
