Beautiful, high quality and solidly made sterling silver spoon from Chicago Illinois, dating back to years around 1900 featuring on the front of the skyline type detailed image of bus with open top full of people, sign on the side, below banner with writing SEEING CHICAGO down the handle. In the bowl it has embossed very detailed view of buildings, the writing is ART INSTITUTE, CHICAGO. On the back more images: sun with 13 small stars in the center, eagle with US shield, crossed two swords and a rifle down the handle. Condition of the spoon is excellent, measures 5-3/4” long (144 mm), and feels solid, weights 25.0 grams. On the back marked STERLING and has hallmark with the old mark of H on a pennant for Mechanics Sterling Company, which was subsidiary of Watson Newell Co. and has engraved initial.
