Florida Airways was formed by Eddie Rickenbacker and Reed Chambers. A Curtiss Lark provided the inaugural service.
On September 15, 1926, Contract Air Mail Route 10 was reorganized. Atlanta, Georgia was made the northern terminus and Macon, Georgia scheduled to be embraced as a new intermediate city between Atlanta and Jacksonville.
This cover was carried on the inaugural Contract Air Mail Route 10 flight from Jacksonville, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia (where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Contract Air Mail Flights (CAM) Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as 10N7.
This reorganized route continued to operate at a loss and was finally discontinued on December 31, 1926. This territory was later served by Contract Air Mail Route 25, beginning December 1, 1928.
