Note the following before buying:
- This is for the 1970s Beocord 5000 type 47xx top loading cassette recorder, not the more common 1980s Beocord 5000 Type 49xx.
- This was working fine, with new belts just fitted, but the Beocord 5000 itself was irreparably damaged, so was stripped down for parts. I am therefore unable to test this now, hence listed as 'for parts or not working'.
I bought a Beocord 5000 type 4705 for parts, knowing it needed new belts. I replaced the belts (they alone cost £25) and this tape transport was working fine, but then I discovered other faults in the circuitry of the Beocord 5000 unit itself, and while investigating that I stupidly damaged the main circuit board and it was beyond repair :(
I therefore stripped it down for parts (other parts are also listed). I do think this tape transport is working but am listing it for parts, no returns, as I cannot test it to be sure. It has a full set of new belts, and the tape counter belt is also included (unused). It played at the right speed and RW and FF worked fast and smooth, once I had fitted the new belts. The cassette tray is included and the eject mechanism is working fine, but may require adjustment when fitted - there's a screw on the side to adjust it.
