Who can tell me about Beulah? Here is the very first Issue! This is the inaugural issue in 1971 of the University of Queensland's English Student Society's Magazine. How often did it come out? How long did the enthusiasm last? How many years did it run?

This is a rare treat for any Student from the U of Q who was or is involved with Beulah.

Named after a William Blake reference, you can read about the vision of the society and its magazine in the first ever editorial by John Chritopherson.

It is a typical student magazine - full of enthusiasm and passion and first explorations in writing and publishing. There are short essays about anything connected to literary or theatre events; the Brisbane scene, current shows, book and theatre reviews, original poems, directions for further study and reading in the literary arts, suggested literary magazines to explore in Australia, etc.

This will be a little trip down memory lane for someone,  or an important cultural document for someone doing their masters or a doctorate in "Student Literary, Political, and Artistic Initiatives and Aspirations in Australian Tertiary Institutions in the 1970s"
