Original 1930s real photo postcard showing the rustic Chateau Lodge in Paradise Valley in the Smith River region of Del Norte County, California. The lodge appears as a small, locally operated guest cabin constructed of slabbed logs with paired entrances. The lower margin is captioned “Chateau Lodge in Paradise Valley – Smith River, California,” and a handwritten message on the reverse identifies the property as “Mr. B. Williamson’s place.” The postcard was mailed in 1937 during the sender’s travels through the Pacific Northwest.

Condition:
Good condition with light handling wear and mild toning. The image surface is clear with visible architectural detail. The reverse is written on, postmarked Naches, Washington, July 13, 1937, and bears a green Franklin 1¢ stamp.
