Original real photo postcard showing the Central Police Station and Police Court on South Bridge Road, Singapore, with rickshaws, pedestrians, and an early motor car in the street. This colonial-era complex, built in the 1880s, served as the main headquarters of the Singapore police in the Chinatown district and was later demolished during 1970s redevelopment. The view dates to the 1920s and provides an excellent documentary look at everyday traffic and architecture outside the station.

The card has a particularly appealing usage history: it was mailed from Naples, Italy, on 16 July 1929 to Capt. E. R. Wall, Bayview Police Station, San Francisco, California, with the sender noting that Naples is “a relief after the Orient & Egypt” and that they have not yet been inside the buildings shown on the front. This police-to-police connection adds strong postal-history and law-enforcement interest on top of the Singapore content. A scarce and characterful RPPC linking colonial Singapore, Mediterranean travel, and U.S. police history.

Condition:
Some wear; slightly rippled. Otherwise very good for age with clear image detail and a well-preserved 1929 postal message and cancellation.
