Lot of Equivalent Machines: The photos in this posting are of the first machine I prepared in the lot, but all machines are guaranteed to be of equivalent quality.
SSHDs:
A solid state hybrid drive is a combination of a conventional "spinning disk" 2.5-inch SATA hard drive with an 8gb flash memory sector. The drive controller stores high-frequency data (like operating system) on the flash memory, making the system snappy and responsive for basic use. It's included here as a budget option for high storage without paying high storage prices.
Upgrades?
I've chosen to spec this machine with a high-capacity SSHD and 8gb single channel ram so that it does not NEED an upgrade, but if you choose to -- which is trivially easy -- you can squeeze a lot more performance out of it.
The SSHD's 8gb flash memory sector is sufficient to keep Windows snappy, and it performs even better on Linux. If you add an NVMe, the SSHD can be repurposed for large files storage, and the synchronous read speeds are sufficient to stream Jellyfin/Plex media off of.
Why buy from me?
I spent a decade working in systems administration and software development, leaving the industry to study environmental conservation. I think computers are groovy and e-waste is tragic. My goal is to sell you something you'll actually use, as every one of these machines that ends up in a home is one less that ends up in a landfill.
