Copper engraved map on hand laid paper with later hand colouring.

Pieter Van Der Aa (1659 - 1733) was a publisher, engraver and mapmaker.  He was born in Leyden and worked there all his life.  He produced a wide range of works including atlases and individual maps, mostly copied from other cartographers.  This map was probably published in 'La Galerie Agreable du Monde' in 1729.

Map area is in good condition for age, engravings are clear. Some browning and stains.  Hand colouring.
