Vintage Acme Steel Co. Type C1A5 manual strap sealer/crimper for 5/8" steel strapping. This heavy two-handle tool is marked “ACME STEEL CO” on the handles, and “TYPE C1A5 SEALER” and “FOR USE ON 5/8 STRAP” on the head. Both yellow ball grips retain the ACME STEEL logo.

This tool was used to crimp metal seals over 5/8" steel banding after the strap was tensioned around a crate, pallet, shipping container, or heavy package. The layered jaw assembly forms the crimp in the metal seal, locking the steel strap in place. A great display or working example of mid-century industrial packaging equipment, especially suitable for collectors of vintage tools, warehouse equipment, military surplus, depot logistics, or aviation supply-era material handling items.
