Sadowsky, a long-established custom brand that enjoys immense support from professional musicians.
The top-of-the-line "NYC" series, crafted by a team led by Roger Sadowsky himself, is currently not accepting new orders from the general public, and further shortages are expected.
This particular guitar is a Standard S-Style featuring a maple top and a comfortable Dinky body. Based on its year of manufacture, it appears to have arrived in Japan just before production ceased.
The wood materials include a maple neck with a beautiful quilted maple top, alder chambered body, and Morado (Bolivian rosewood) fingerboard.
This guitar boasts a striking, fantastical Peacock Blue color that beautifully showcases the quilted maple. The slightly smaller quilted pattern is clearly visible throughout, and the wood grain itself is deep, truly embodying the peacock-like beauty of the color name!
The pickups are Sadowsky Original Pickups in an HSH configuration.
The pickups themselves don't have a strong coloration; they have a well-balanced character that naturally amplifies the body's resonance.
However, since it's equipped with Sadowsky's signature original preamp,
it allows for a very wide range of dynamic sound shaping.
Regarding the condition, there are some shallow dents and scratches on the body from use, and some tarnishing and rust on the parts. However, considering its age, it's in relatively good condition with minimal signs of wear.
The frets have been leveled upon arrival at our shop and have about 80% remaining. The neck is straight, and the truss rod functions correctly in both directions.
It's still in a condition where it can be enjoyed as a main guitar for many years to come!
The strap pins have been replaced with Dunlop locking pins. A strap-side locking mechanism is included.
