This is a fully restored and working very well model 153T vacuum tube tabletop AM radio that Arvin first introduced in 1948. This radio receives stations very well with good warm analog vacuum tube sound and volume with no hum using just the loop antenna inside the case with no need for an external antenna. It has been tested for several days and should continue to play loud and clear for many, many more years.

The ivory case has a gold dial that lights up brightly when the radio is on. The case has no cracks, chips, or odors. I thoroughly washed and re-painted the case the original color, and it looks remarkable for a 78-year-old. The knobs match and are original. This restored radio would look nice and retro on a table or shelf and could be used as a daily AM radio.

I have thoroughly cleaned the inside chassis, and the volume control has been de-oxidized for smooth volume changes, and all moving controls are lubricated. Failure of old capacitors is the most common reason old radios don’t work so all old electrolytic and paper capacitors in the chassis have been replaced with new modern capacitors. Brittle or bare wiring has been replaced or re-insulated. All 5 easily found tubes have been tested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The power cord is still in good condition and may have been replaced at some time. The speaker is in great condition. The radio has been aligned and successfully bench tested for a minimum of 20 hours.

The radio size is approximately 6¾” high by 10” wide by 6” deep and weighs about 5½ pounds. Shipping weight after padding and packaging should be about 7 pounds.

I take great pride in packing and shipping. The radio will be insured and carefully padded and packaged to arrive without damage. Please check my feedback.

Note: If you are unsuccessful in winning this radio, please check back to see what other radios I have for sale. I list one restored old radio about every 8 days. I have restored over 750 old tube radios.
